Paul is also an active angel investor in tech and life sciences and supports early-stage businesses and scale-ups through mentoring, board roles and coaching. Having held Chair, CEO, COO and technical leadership roles, he has broad skills and particular expertise in scaling teams and operations, commercial channels, partnerships and fundraising.
Paul studied Engineering at Bristol University, worked in two automotive businesses and then in product and process development for blue-chip clients in consumer goods and healthcare as a programme manager and group leader at the technology firm Cambridge Consultants. He co-founded Inca Digital Printers, a VC backed Cambridge business that developed digital ink jet printing equipment and which dominated in the global large format flatbed market. After successful scaling and trade sale, Paul went on to invest in over 25 tech and healthcare start-ups as a member of Cambridge Angels and has enjoyed a number of positive exits.
