Massimiliano Colella is the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of CMR Surgical (CMR), a global surgical robotics company headquartered in Cambridge, UK. He was appointed as interim CEO in October 2024 and became permanent CEO in January 2025.
Prior to becoming CEO, Massimiliano joined CMR as Chief Commercial Officer in 2023, where he oversaw the company’s commercial and marketing operations, contributing to the expansion of the Versius Surgical System to more hospitals worldwide.
Before his tenure at CMR, Massimiliano served as Group Chief Executive Officer and Board member at Evercare Group, a leading hospital group managing 30 hospitals, 16 clinics, and over 100 diagnostic centers. His career spans more than 30 years in senior healthcare leadership roles, including significant positions at Johnson & Johnson and Smith & Nephew. In addition to his executive roles, over the last decade Massimiliano has also held several Board roles including as Chairman.
His extensive experience in the medical device industry and hospital management positions makes him an ideal fit to lead CMR and help more people around the world get the benefits of minimal access surgery.
