Pragmatic Semiconductor is 15 years old today. This is a milestone that gives us the perfect moment to reflect on how far we’ve come.

When Pragmatic was established in 2010, our mission was bold and ambitious: to rethink what’s possible in flexible electronics. We set out to create a new kind of chip – flexible, ultra-thin, cost-optimised and quick to produce – to open electronics to applications that traditional silicon semiconductors simply couldn’t reach.

Fifteen years later, that vision has become reality.

Innovation that scales

Our FlexIC innovation bridges physical and digital worlds impacting trillions of items globally, and offers a pathway to smarter, more sustainable and resilient supply chains.

Our unique and innovative manufacturing process means short cycle times eliminating the energy-intensive processes of standard semiconductor manufacturing, dramatically reducing the carbon impact of our chips with less water, fewer harmful chemicals, and lower temperatures. Additionally, our modular manufacturing requires a compact footprint, with each production line measuring only 600m2. We believe that connecting the world doesn’t need to cost the earth.

Transitioning to high-volume manufacturing is no simple feat. Semiconductors are unforgiving – demanding extraordinary skill and experience from a wide range of talented people.

As we solved technical challenges, moving into pilot production became essential to prove scalability.
